Leilani Fairman McCall, 77, a hockey, tennis and squash coach at Germantown Academy and Germantown Friends School, died Feb. 8 at Sunrise Senior Living in Blue Bell.

During the late 1970s and early 1980s Mrs. McCall coached junior varsity squash at Germantown Friends and junior varsity tennis and middle school field hockey at Germantown Academy.

Born in Lake Forest, Ill., she attended Lake Forest County Day School and graduated from Garrison Forest School. She attended Vassar College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree with high honors from Chestnut Hill College.

A longtime resident of Chestnut Hill, Mrs. McCall was an active member of the Garden Club of Philadelphia, the Garden Club of America and an avid participant and winner at the Philadelphia Flower Show.

She is survived by her husband, John B. Gould, of Vero Beach, Calif.; daughters Melanie Pyle, of Alexandria, Va., Tari Carlson, of Erdenheim, and Florence Phillips, of Jackson, Wyo.; sisters Josephine, Fredericka and Brooke, and six grandchildren. Mrs. McCall's first husband, J. Bartow McCall, preceded her in death.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at St. Paul's Church, 22 East Chestnut Hill Ave, in Chestnut Hill. Memorial donations may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 424 E. 92nd St., New York, NY 10128-6804 – WF
