John H. “Jack” Hallock, 93, of Flourtown, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 30th, 2014 with his beloved wife of thirty-three years, Elisabeth “Elsie” Hallock at his bedside. He was the father of Mary S. Hallock, John H. Hallock, Jr. and adopted daughter, Ruth Baron. He was the devoted grandfather of Amelia H. Edwards, Nathaniel G. Edwards, Samuel D. Hallock, M. Peter Hallock, Sarah I. Hallock and uncle to Thomas Hallock, Jr. and Elizabeth Ann Hallock. He was step-father to William B. Patterson, II, Mary B. Heizer, Elisabeth E. Haagen and Sarah R. Benton. Son of Levitt Duane Hallock and Elizabeth Stevens Hallock, Mr. Hallock was born on November, 11th, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Cincinnati. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas. Mr. Hallock graduated from Walnut Hills High School, and, after earning his business degree from the University of Cincinnati and completing ROTC training, rose in rank to become a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army where he was stationed in Germany toward the end of WW II. For most of his working career, he was a credit manager for the Philip Carey Manufacturing Company and later, for Panacon, Inc. Toward the end of his career, he was a sales manager for MDC Industries in Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Hallock was an active member of The Mayflower Society, the Sons of the Revolution, and The Society of Colonial Wars. He was a well-loved member of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Oaks, PA, where he was interred on February, 5th 2014. His charm, warm personality and wit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
