Crime Report: One burglary, 3 thefts

The following crimes are from the week of July 28 to Aug. 3, 2013.

July 28. 8100 block Germantown Avenue. Complainant states she went to back of store to get item customer had asked for and when she returned customer was gone and so was complainant's Apple iPhone 5 from under counter. Reported at 4:20 p.m.

July 28. Unit block E. Bells Mill Road. Complainant Brian Shields stated he parked his girlfriend's 2012 Toyota at this location and when he returned he discovered the passenger side door damaged and the interior ransacked. Taken were credit cards and his social security card.

July 30. 8000 block Stenton Avenue. Complainant states that she was out of her home and offender was let into home by her brother. Offender went through papers on table and was asked by her brother to leave. Complainant came home and noticed paperwork was missing. Brother witnessed male taking paperwork. Male, Dion Monroe, 36 – 40 years old, residing in the 1800 block of E. Duval Street. Reported at 12 a.m.

Aug. 1. 100 block E. Mermaid Lane. Police responded to alarm and found an 8” x 6” glass pane on front door was broken. Housekeeper left house at 9:30 a.m. and everything was OK then. Entry was not made and nothing was taken.

Summary – Four crimes for week: one burglary, one theft from vehicle and two other thefts.
