At last summer has officially arrived. The weather is warmer, the pace of life slows down and friends and families are on vacation. At last you have the time to do something just for you maybe a pastime you already love or maybe you want to try something new. Either way, the Chestnut Hill Center for Enrichment is here for you.
We have a class for you: Needle crafts on Monday mornings, Drawing/sketching/watercolors on Mondays and Tuesdays, a French conversation group every Monday afternoon, Tai Chi (Wednesdays) and Yoga (on-the-floor or in-a-chair, on Friday), International Folk Dancing every Friday afternoon, Bridge games (Wednesday and Thursday afternoons), Scrabble (Friday mornings), Short Story discussions and a Knitting group (Friday afternoons). Some groups meet at the Center for Enrichment (8431 Germantown Avenue (across the street from the Chestnut Hill Local and Community Association); others in Center on the Hill at the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill.
On July 16 the Center for Enrichment will present “Getting Your Affairs in Order” with a light lunch; the community is invited. The CHCE will be taking in a Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs baseball game on July 20 and taking a trip to see “The 1968 Exhibit” at our National Constitution Center on Aug. 14. You are invited. We will also be showing free movies on our new big-screen HDTV Tuesday afternoons on July 9 and 23, and Aug. 6 and 20.
For more detailed information about all Center for Enrichment activities, call Mary Zell at 215-248-0180 or send an email (the.chce@verizon.net). If you want to join our summer travel adventures or attend a lunch program, pre-registration is required and should be done as soon as possible.
