Police seek two in Weavers Way theft

Police are looking for help to catch two men who are believed to have robbed an 82-year-old customer of the Chestnut Hill Weavers Way Coop, 8434 Germantown Ave. on Wednesday, June 19.

According to police, who reviewed surveillance video captured by the Coop, the two men appeared to be targeting the woman, and at one point one of the men bumped into her. The police believed the men used a blue and white garment bag to conceal the theft of a black deposit bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash, checks and credit card receipts.

According to police, both men left the store through its rear exit.

The Northwest detectives division issued the following descriptions of the suspects:

Suspect #1: Black male, 30-40 years-of-age, stocky build, medium complexion, wearing a blue baseball cap, blue/purple t-shirt, dark colored shorts, and black sneakers.

Suspect #2: Black male, 30-40 years-of-age, medium build, dark complexion, wearing a red t-shirt with a white eagle emblem on the left side and white sneakers.

NW Detectives asks that anyone who sees the suspects should call 911 immediately. Anyone who has information can call the Philadelphia Police tip line: 215-686-TIPS (8477).Tips can be text messaged to PPD TIP or 773847.

Information can also be passed to Northwest Detectives Division directly at 215-686-3353/3354.
