A summer series of five deejayed swing dances will be held in Chestnut Hill in June, July, August and September by the Philadelphia Swing Dance Society.

The dances, which will be preceded by lessons for beginners, will be held at 8:45 p.m. on June 22, July 13, July 27, Aug. 10 and Sept. 28, with another dance possible in September. They will be held in air-conditioned Widener Hall behind the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill, 8855 Germantown Ave. Beginner lessons start at 7 p.m.

Music will include “big band” style tunes plus 50s rock-and-roll, rockabilly, classic blues and more. Admission is $15, and $10 with a student or military ID or if you bring baked goodies to share or with a pre-arranged group discount.
