Students at Germantown Friends have been busy collecting canned foods, turkeys and pies for their Germantown neighbors for the Thanksgiving holiday.

“The need this year is sobering,” said Community Involvement Director Kathy Paulmier, who worked with students across the three divisions to secure donations for the Holsey Temple CME Church, St. Luke’s food cupboard and the Wistar Townhouses, all local.

“Our student community really responded to - and connected with - the people and organizations they’ve come to know in Germantown, and this truly made a difference in their involvement," Paulmier said. “Sharing food is such a basic and beautiful gesture of connection. The response from our community has been overwhelmingly generous.”
