Hill Hoagie fans have something to cheer about.

Mike Pieciuk, a 34-year veteran with Acme, is bringing Primo Hoagie, the South Philly sandwich shop, to 51 Bethlehem Pike, former home of The Post Light. Pieciuk said he’s looking to open a deli and grocery store and wanted the right location in which to do so.

Pieciuk appeared before last night's meeting of the Chestnut Hill Community Association's Development Review Committee.

“My daughter suggested Chestnut Hill,” he said, adding that it’s a great neighborhood with a great small-town feel.

By providing a dine-in option, Pieciuk said his would be different than other Primo Hoagie shops. With a sports theme and TVs for football games, he said he intends his Primo to be a destination.

The proposal doesn’t require a variance, but Pieciuk thought the DRC would be a good opportunity to show his face and introduce himself to the community. Landis asked if he’d consider meeting with the Aesthetics Committee anyway, something he said he’d be happy to do. The DRC took no action on this item.
