The following crimes are from the week of July 22 to July 28, 2012.July 23. 8300 block Shawnee St. Complainant states that at 8 a.m., an unknown person stole a 48 x 48 inch slab from his driveway.

Crime Report: A woman is knocked down, her purse snatched on Ardleigh St.

The following crimes are from the week of July 22 to July 28, 2012.July 23. 8300 block Shawnee St. Complainant states that at 8 a.m., an unknown person stole a 48 x 48 inch slab from his driveway.

July 23. 7600 Stenton Ave. Between 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., someone damaged the door and lock to an apartment. The renter left his apartment to inform apartment manager and when he returned he found a young, black male trying to open door. When the would be burglar saw the apartment owner he fled down the hall to rear fire stairs. Offender, black male, 20 – 25 years old, black shorts, black socks and sneakers.

July 24. 100 block E. Hartwell Lane. Complainant states she was walking across the street at Hartwell and Ardleigh when two black males ran up to her from behind, knocked her down and took her purse. Both men ran down the street, jumped into a small burgundy sedan and fled northbound on Ardleigh Street. Taken was a Coach bag with heart monitor, one phone, a gray cloth wallet, cash, Pennsylvania driver's license, credit cards and debit cards. Pocketbook was recovered at Vernon and Cheltenham avenues. One of the men was described as wearing a tan t-shirt, dark colored shorts. There was no description of the accomplice..

July 24. 7800 block Stenton Ave. Complainant states he parked his white 2001 Ford E-250 Cargo truck at 12 p.m. on July 24. When he returned, he found the rear,m passenger side window smnashed and his Honda power washer missing.

July 28. 7600 block Crittenden Street. Complainant state sthat he got into a verbal altercation with another man over landscaping work and that the man punched him in the face. Complainant suffered injury to his nose and was transferred to Chestnut Hill Hospital emergency room. Xray showed broken nose.

July 26. 100 block Hilltop Road. Complainant reported a silver 2010 Hyundai Accent, Pennsylvania tag HYMO 349 stolen between 9 p.m. on July 23 and 10:20 a.m. on July 24.

July 27. 400 block E. Abington Ave. Complainant reported a blue, T Mobile Galaxy Phone stolen between 1:30 and 1:55 p.m.

July 28. 200 block E. Hartwell Lane. Complainant states that three black men came up to him and his friend and said, “Give me your money and your phone.” The complainant said he handed over his items and the three men fled toward the train tracks. The three men were described as follows: First, 16 – 20 years old, wearing an orange hat, white shirt, khaki pants and had a silver knife. Second, 16 – 20 years old, wearing white shirt and khaki pants. Third, 16 – 20 years old, wearing a white shirt and khaki pants. Reported at 8 p.m.

July 28. Germantown and Southampton avenues. Complainant states that six black men came up to him and demanded his money and phone. One of the men was described as wearing tan cargo pants. No description of other five offenders.

July 28. 7 Valley Green Road. Complainant states that when he returned to his vehicle he noticed the following items missing: a debit card, a Visa card, money, Canon camera and two Samsung cell phones.

Summary – 10 crimes for week: one aggravated assault, three robberies, one burglary, one stolen vehicle, two thefts, two thefts from vehicles.
