Anne Marie Jordan Longfellow - 74, of Cape May passed away peacefully with family members by her side on Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Anne was born in Philadelphia’s Main Line and attended Agnes Irwin School in Rosemont, PA. She loved her family and enjoyed a life-long passion for travel and adventure. Her indomitable spirit and warm smile allowed her to make lifelong friends at home and from around the world. Anne spent her early years between Philadelphia and Havana, Cuba, learning Spanish and English and then raised her family in Pensacola Florida, Hawaii, Virginia Beach and Chestnut Hill. Through the 1980s she spent over a decade living in Paris, France and Estoril, Portugal; becoming fluent in both languages. While in Portugal she started a unique hand painted tile business. Anne loved to explore - one of her favorite joys was riding her Vespa scooter through the streets and alleyways of Paris. She was also an avid tennis player and cook. Upon her return from Europe, Anne lived between Cape May, NJ and Tucson, AZ - and her favorite things in the world included playing tennis at the Cape May Tennis Club with friends, and enjoying big lobster feasts and late night guitar sing alongs with family and friends at her Cape May house. After a major stroke in 1999, Anne continued her life’s adventure and could be seen riding her hot wheels flamed Rascal Scooter from Cape May, to the Bay Drive as well as taking it on trips to Philadelphia, Disney World, and Bermuda. Anne was predeceased by her brother Norris and will be dearly missed by her loving family which includes her sons, William and Michael; her daughter, Alexandra; her daughter in-law, Graziela (married to her son William); her two grandchildren, Griffin and Kyle; also her cousins, extended family and friends. Her spirit will always be with us and the friends she made. We love you Mom.  Family and friends will gather on Thursday (June 21st) from 10AM until 11AM in the Spilker Funeral Home, 815 Washington St., Cape May for a time to share in Anne’s memory and spirit. Her memorial service and tribute will begin in a special way at 11AM. Interment will be private.
