Anne Patricia Weidner “Annie” Shiffert, 82, a retired association management consultant, died March 8 of pancreatic cancer at her home in Lafayette Hill.

Mrs. Shiffert had worked for more than four decades at Multiservice Management Co., a business started by her husband, John A. Shiffert, that assisted professional and trade associations with the staging of conventions, meetings and other gatherings.

Earlier she had been a draftsman at Brown Instrument Co. in Philadelphia. While raising her two children, she was a freelance artist and calligrapher.

She also had been a dance instructor at Allens Lane Art Center, a cooking class teacher at Germantown Friends School and a Brownie leader at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lafayette Hill, where she had lived for 60 years.

A native of Beach Haven, N.J., Mrs. Shiffert was a graduate of Barnegat High School and attended Moore College of Art. A natural athlete, she played varsity basketball at Barnegat High and, in later life, bowled, played tennis and golfed, becoming a prominent member of the “Nine Holers” at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, she is survived by a son, John A. Shiffert Jr.; a daughter, Sarah Anne Idell Shiffert; a son-in-law, John Fogarty; a daughter-in-law, Faith Shiffert, and six grandchildren.

A celebration of Mrs. Shiffert’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Home Instead Senior Care, 507 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444, or Keystone Hospice, 8765 Stenton Ave., Wyndmoor, PA 19039. – WF
