March 5. 8000 block St. Martin’s Lane. Complainant states that an unknown person entered a 2007 Volvo and stole a Toni handbag containing a Visa card, American Express Card and a make-up kit. Occurred after noon.
March 6. Philadelphia Police and the FBI are looking for a man who failed to rob the Chestnut Hill Branch of Sovereign Bank on Tuesday morning, March 6.
According to the FBI, the man handed a demand letter to a teller at 10:10 a.m. He then fled without getting any cash. The FBI believes the man is the same man responsible for a bank robbery of National Penn Bank, 9 W. Evergreen Ave., on January 6.
From a release from the FBI:
“Subject is described as a black male, 30 years old, 5’7” tall, with a slim build, dark complexion, goatee and moustache, and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark sunglasses, and black gloves.
“Pictures from the bank’s security cameras are below. This subject is considered armed and dangerous.
“Anyone with information is asked to call the Philadelphia Police or the FBI at -215- 418-4000.
“There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture and tipsters may remain anonymous.”
March 7. Germantown Ave. ans W. Gravers Lane. Complainant states that he was on Route 23 bus and one black male sat down next to him and told him to give up his belongings. Males jumped off bus and fled in an unknown direction. Taken was one glossy blue Headphones and one AT&T iPhone. First male, 5’5” tall, 125 – 130 lbs., medium build, light brown complexion, wearing a dark blue Villanova hoodie and dark jeans. Second male, 5’11” tall, 130 – 140 lbs., medium build, light brown complexion, wearing a black shirt, dark blue jeans and dark sneakers. Reported at 3:28 p.m.
March 7. 8200 block Germantown Avenue. Complainant states that an unknown person stole two hubcaps from his 2010 Ford Fusion. Reported at 12 p.m.
March 9. 8800 block Germantown Avenue. Between 8:30 p.m. on March 8 and 7 a.m. on March 9, an unknown person entered academy and stole a television set from classroom. Window was broken and door damaged.
March 9. 200 block E. Willow Grove Avenue. Complainant states that she parked her gray Honda Civic, Pennsylvania tag HME 3358 five days ago and when she returned vehicle was gone. Owners card and insurance card were in vehicle.
March 10. 8400 block Seminole Street. Between 11 a.m. and 9:50 p.m., an unknown person entered home through dining room window and stole a Tiffany necklace, a pearl necklace, one pair of diamond earrings and platinum earrings.
Summary — Seven crimes for week: two burglaries, two robberies, two thefts from vehicles and one stolen vehicle.
