In addition to news that Borders has a new tenant, News broke yesterday that 8707 Germantown Ave., the former location of Shundeez Market, will soon open as a 50-seat BYOB restaurant, Heirloom. (Thai Kuu occupies the space of Shundeez Restaurant.)

That news came via an email from Warmdaddy's Restaurant marketing manager Lauren Harrington, forwarded to several publications by Chestnut Hill retail coordinator Eileen Reilly.

In her e-mail, Harrington described the restaurant as follows:

"Guests at our garden locale can anticipate ‘Top of the Hill’ presentation in dishes such as scallops with pork belly or lobster with garnet yam dumplings during their culinary adventure.  Heirloom variety, locally sourced produce, complements authentic American ingredients, making the innovative preparations a tribute to rich and flavorful culinary traditions from coast-to-coast. The reclaimed wooden tables and earthy Pennsylvania stone draw you into the warmly-lit dining room welcoming both larger gatherings and intimate meals."

Harrington said the restaurant is scheduled to open in early November.
