A real Chestnut Hill wedding

Posted

My husband and I threw a Chestnut Hill wedding this past weekend.  As my daughter, aka “The Bride,” repeatedly pointed out throughout the nuptials preparations, I am a lazy Mother of the Bride.  I do not spend countless hours considering every detail of the day.  I am more a ‘let’s do this' girl who makes decisions at the 11th hour.

Fortunately, the shops of Germantown Avenue had me covered and our Chestnut Hill wedding looked carefully considered and beautifully executed.

Thank you to Chip Roman of Mica for catering the shower, to Quelque Chose for the bride maids' gifts and Oxford Circus for the magical surprises for the flower girls.

Our guests were treated to Robertson’s Flowers, a fantastic Night Kitchen Bakery cake and a late night treat from A Taste of Philly Pretzel.

Carl Drake made sure the bridal party was well fed before the ceremony and Diamond Spa made sure all hands were soft and pretty.

We are indebted to Manuella for the care she took with “The Dress” and for Alex Murray of Caleb Meyer, who carefully adapted my mother’s pin for my daughter’s hair.  Finally, I am personally thankful for the gift of Carmen’s Shoe Repair for making those beautiful heels something I can actually walk in!

Everything we needed to make our friends, family and feet happy was available on Germantown Avenue. It was truly a Chestnut Hill wedding.

Chestnut Hill retail recruiter
