Barbara Steel Blanck, 84, of Schwenksville, formerly of Mt. Airy, died Sept. 8 at Brightview Assisted Living in East Norriton.
Born and raised in Mt. Airy, Mrs. Blanck had been an active member of Lutheran congregations in both Germantown and Mt. Airy. At St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Mt. Airy she had been a choir member and Sunday school teacher.
At Trinity Lutheran Church in Germantown, where she had been a member for 42 years, she was a member of the choir and the Altar Guild. At the time of her death she was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lansdale.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert F.; a daughter, Meredith S. Marando-Blanck; a sister, Joann S. Berger; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Sept. 13 at the Krauth Memorial Chapel of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, 7301 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19119. Memorial donations may be made to the seminary or to the Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter 399 Market St., Philadelphia, PA 19106.
