In present day San Francisco, a man’s genetic engineering experiments lead to the development of intelligence in apes and begin the war for supremacy.

A comedy in which a married father accidentally switches bodies with his party-boy, bachelor best friend. This leads to a series of hilarious antics and adventures before they can switch back to their bodies.

What: Moonlight Movies Series: E.T. When: August 12 @8:30 p.m. Where: Lovett Memorial Library 6945 Germantown Avenue Mt. Airy

Mt. Airy USA is partnering with the Free Library of Philadelphia and the Trolley Car Diner to host a Moonlight Movies outdoor series that concludes this week with with  E.T., the 1982 sci-fi classic in which a shy boy finds a stranded extraterrestrial and must find the courage to defy authority to return the alien to his home planet. Seating will begin at 8 p.m.

What: Philadelphia Volunteer Firemen Muster for the Union When: August 9- February 8, 2012 Where: Fireman’s Hall Museu 147 N. 2nd St. Mt. Airy

Fireman’s Hall Museum and the Fire Zouaves of the 72nd Pennsylvania Regiment have just opened a new exhibit highlighting the role that Philadelphia’s volunteer firemen played in the Civil War. The exhibit includes documents and artifacts from the Philadelphia Fire Zouaves, the Pennsylvania 72nd Regiment.
