The following crimes are from the week of  July 31 to August 6, 2011.

July 31. 500 block W. Willow Grove Avenue. Complainant states that she parked her white 2001 PT Cruiser and went for a walk, and when she returned she found the driver’s side window broken and a fire in the back seat. When police arrived they called the fire department, and they determined that arson and theft from vehicle was committed. Taken was a blue cooler, pink Doonery & Bourke bag containing money, credit cards and various forms of identification. Reported at 7:05 p.m.

July 31. Seminole Avenue and Willow Grove Avenue. A group of four black males came up to man from behind, and one pointed a black handgun at him. Another hit him in the head from behind. Three of the males were wearing white T-shirts. The fourth was apprehended in the 7600 block of Germantown Ave. Reported at 9:15 p.m.

July 31. 100 block Gravers Lane. Complainant states that between 5 and 6 p.m., an unknown person broke the driver’s side window of a 2001 Land Rover and stole a GPS and a black iPod.

Aug. 1. 100 block Benezet Street. Complainant states that between 2:25 and 3 p.m., an unknown person stole a 20 inchSchwinn mountain bike. Reported at 3:05 p.m.

Aug. 3. 200 block E. Willow Grove Avenue. Complainant states that she was approached just before closing by defendant who pointed a black automatic handgun at her and demanded money. Defendant stated “put the money in bag.” Complainant took money from the cash register and put it in the bag. Male fled westbound on Willow Grove Avenue and southbound on Ardleigh Street. Reported at 7 p.m.

Aug. 4.  8100 block Ardleigh Street. Complainant states that between 10 p.m. on Aug. 3 and 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 4, an unknown person cut chain off a blue and purple bike which was chained to front porch. Reported at 7:45 a.m.

Aug. 5. Unit block W. Sunset Avenue. Complainant states that while checking on his mother’s house he noticed right side window open and rear door open. While waiting for police, complainant did a walk through and found that nothing appeared to have been taken.

Aug. 5. 7700 block Cherokee Street. Complainant states that an unknown person stole a motor -cycle ramp from the front of garage. Reported on Aug. 4.

Aug. 6. 8100 block Ardleigh Street. Complainant states that between 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 4 and 12 p.m. on Aug. 6, an unknown person gained entry through side window and stole a Toshiba laptop.

Aug. 6. Germantown and Rex Aves. Complainant states that she parked her red 1997 Ford Escort, Pennsylvania tag DFB3924 for about five minutes and when she returned vehicle was gone. Reported at 1:40 p.m.

Aug. 6. 600 block W. Hartwell Lane. Complainant states that between Aug. 2 and Aug. 4 an unknown person stole a Royal leaf blower and mulcher.

Summary — Eleven crimes for week: one arson, one aggravated assault, one robbery, two burglaries, four thefts and two thefts from vehicles.
