This weekend is full of fun- do you hate your boss, or love fairy tales told by a kind grandfather, then check out this week’s Screen Play! Chestnut Hill will also be hosting it’s 3rd annual book festival where over 50 local and national authors will be spotlighted.

Screen Play:

What: Horrible Bosses (R)

When: July 8

Where: Check your local listings

A raunchy comedy where three friends team up and conspire to murder their micromanaging bosses, only to find their plot snowballing out of control and into disaster.

What: Moonlight Movies Series: The Princess Bride

When: July 8 @8:30 p.m.

Where: Lovett Memorial Library

Mt. Airy USA is partnering with the Free Library of Philadelphia and the Trolley Car Diner to host the kick-off to a Moonlight Movies outdoor series that will run for six consecutive Fridays through August 12. This week’s movie is The Princess Bride the classic 1987 fairy tale. Seating will begin at 8 p.m.

What: Chestnut Hill 3rd Annual Book Festival

When: July 9 & 10, times vary by location

Where: Various Chestnut Hill Locations

This year’s events will be at several Chestnut Hill locations including Chestnut Hill Academy and the Venetian Club and will showcase more than 50 authors and will host over 25 free events at additional venues in the area. Nearly all events will be free of charge, but a select few will cost a small fee.

What: Southampton Days 2011 Festival

When: July 8 & 9

Enjoy a fun family event with several events and activities each day including a children’s comedy show, a pie eating contest, and concerts including performances by the Southampton Community Band and Lost Pint.

What: Sunset Safari

When: July 9, 4 p.m. -8 p.m.

Where: Philadelphia Zoo

Enjoy a late night at the zoo to learn about conservation efforts at home or around the world, and the Zoo’s Footprints program. This event is free for zoo members, and included with regular admission for non-members.
