March 14. 7700 block Crittenden Street. Complainant states that an unknown person entered a Ford Explorer and stole a GPS, 100 Percocets and 40 Soma pills. Reported at 10:33 p.m.

The following crimes are from the week of March 13 to March 19, 2011.

March 14. 7700 block Crittenden Street. Complainant states that an unknown person entered a Ford Explorer and stole a GPS, 100 Percocets and 40 Soma pills. Reported at 10:33 p.m.

March 15. 7700 block Crittenden Street. Complainant states she left her purse in shopping cart and when she returned two minutes later, purse was gone. Purse contained credit cards and money.

March 15. 100 block W. Mermaid Lane. Complainant states that he and his wife saw a black male wearing a black leather jacket with white trim walk up their driveway and enter their garage. Offender was gone when police arrived but was stopped in the 100 block of Navajo Street and was positively identified. Occurred at 2:38 a.m.

March 16. 100 block E. Mermaid Lane. Between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m., an unknown person broke driver’s side back window and stole a laptop computer and laptop case. Reported at 8:30 p.m.

March 16. 8200 block Germantown Ave. Complainant states that offenders entered Post Office, jumped counter and showed a black pistol. Offenders fled through side door and got into a white Chrysler with Pennsylvania tag ???9006. Taken was money. First black male, dark complexion, thin build, wearing a dark blue hoody. Second black male, 5’8” tall, light complexion, bald and heavy.

March 18. 7700 block Germantown Avenue. Manager states she saw offender putting items inside bags and leaving store without paying. Offender was stopped in the 7800 block of Germantown Avenue and positively identified. A number of items were recovered. Arrested was Joseph Polite residing in the 3000 block of Ridge Avenue.

March 17. 7700 block Stenton Avenue. Complainant states that between 10 .m. and 11 a.m., an unknown person pried open and broke out glass from bedroom window and stole a Bretling diamond watch, a Gucci watch, a safe containing money and a 16gb iPad, serial # GB040115KA90.

March 17. Germantown & Abington Aves. Complainant and witness stated that offender followed them for about a block when offender approached complainant and punched him. Complainant and witness walked off. Offender yelled to them, “get back here or I’m going to kill your home.”

March 19. Valley Green Road. Complainant states that when she returned to her black VW Passat, she found front passenger window was cracked open and wallet containing identification and credit cards, iPhone and a laptop computer were stolen.

Reported at 1:30 p.m.

Summary — Nine crimes for week: two robberies, two burglaries, two thefts and three thefts from vehicles.
