The Chestnut Hill Film Group, sponsored by the Chestnut Hill Local, presents John Guillerman's 1978 mystery, thriller "Death on the Nile” at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 15 at the Chestnut Hill Library, 8711 Germantown Ave. " Based on the novel by Agatha Christie, “death on the Nile” won an Academy Award for best costume design, and was nominated as best foreign film at the 1978 Golden Globes.

The film stars Peter Ustinov as detective Hercule Poirot, who is investigating the murders of an heiress (Lois Chiles) on the SS Karnak in Egypt. Other cast members include Bette Davis, Mia Farrow and Angela Lansbury.

The next film in the series is Hiroshi Teshigahara's 1964 classic, "Woman in the Dunes.” Teshigahara was the first Japanese filmmaker to be nominated for the Best Director Oscar.
